Multi-Angle static Light Scattering (MALS) detector

The DAWN® HELEOS® II is Multi-Angle static Light Scattering (MALS) detector which is the most often used in conjunction with Field-Flow Fractionation (FFF-MALS) to determine particle size distributions and molecular weight. It also contains WyattQELS module which adds dynamic light scattering (DLS) to determine the sizes of macromolecules and nanoparticles as the hydrodynamic radius calculated from the diffusion coefficient. The combination of DLS and MALS helps assess particle shape and molecular conformation of polymers. Included with DAWN HELEOS II is a copy of ASTRA software package available for analysis of online multi-angle and dynamic light scattering.
