On Monday, 13 September, the Citizen Science Hackathon starts at the UNIVIE-Campus: The WTZ Ost and our Faculty again invited interested students and early career researchers to participate in a Hackathon to develop "Digital Solutions for Societal Challenges". Students and early career researchers from all disciplines could apply, either as a team or as individuals. This year, the winner team will receive 1000 Euro, provided by the City of Vienna and the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy.
Focus on environment & mobility
This year the Hackathon focuses on the topics of environment and mobility: Interdisciplinary teams are going to develop solutions on one of nine selected challenges around the topics of environment and mobility - from "KlimaGrätzls" and roadside planting to sharing mobility or cycling in Vienna, just to name a few. The Hackathon is organized by the WTZ Ost in cooperation with our Faculty, the City of Vienna, SDG Watch Austria and UpLeveled.
During the hackathon the teams will work on a challenge in order to develop a prototype or a concept for a possible digital solution. At the last day of the hackathon, each team will pitch their ideas to a jury.
