This is the second call for applications within the third APPEAR programme phase running until 2027. Since the beginning of APPEAR in 2009 it is now the 9th Call. Subject to the availability of funds four calls are envisaged until 2027. In 2023 the call will be open for all funding instruments (partly with a reduced maximum project duration), while in 2024 funding will only be available for Academic Partnerships, Advanced Academic Partnerships and Extended Impact Partnerships with a reduced maximum project duration.

- Individual PhD scholarship application
The deadline for submissions is 31 May 2022.
The 11 priority countries are: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Uganda, Mozambique, Bhutan, Palestine, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Albania, Kosovo.
