Within the framework of the Circle U. Alliance, the University of Vienna invites applications for Circle U. Academic Chairs at the University of Vienna. The task of the Academic Chairs is to develop joint teaching and research activities with Circle U. partners. 

At UNIVIE, academic chairs are recruited from academic staff under permanent contract for a two-year term starting in November 2023, with the potential for a further extension of up to two years.

Chairs are recruited in four thematic fields: climate change, democracy, global health and teaching innovation.

Academic chairs will dedicate 20% of their total teaching time to Circle U. There will be no increase in their total teaching responsibilities. The chairs will have an annual budget of 5,000 EUR that can be flexibly used to support their work.
