Our aim in this study was to see whether spatial reorganisation of crimes to urban rehabilitation processes appears in the perceived fear of crime of Citizens in Budapest. Rehabilitation of Hős Street was the main investigated event in connection to citizens' perceived fear of crime during 2 period. The spatial distribution of drug users has changed. We compared data on fear of crime collected at two different time points. The perception of the eradicated hotspot significantly improved between the two surveys, although it was still considered the most frightening area in the first survey. The emergence of drug users in new areas clearly contributed to fear, though the extent of this fear has not yet reached significant levels. Further analysis is required to uncover the underlying causes.
