Students of the different degree programmes at the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy of the University of Vienna are invited to explore our partner universities (within the European Union and beyond), while students from abroad are very welcome to visit the "Faculty for Exploration" in Vienna. 4CITIES - Joint Degree in Urban Studies

4CITIES = 4 semesters studying across Europe: This international and interdisciplinary master's programme in Urban Studies is supported by Erasmus Mundus and offers three track options. The classical track takes place at universities in Brussels, Vienna, Copenhagen, and Madrid.

Joint Master's Programme in Physics of the Earth

The English-language joint master’s programme in Physics of the Earth (Geophysics) is jointly offered by the University of Vienna and the Comenius University in Bratislava. The degree programme focuses on the functioning of the earth and the exploration of its structure.

VISESS Doctoral School

The Vienna International School of Earth and Space Sciences (VISESS) addresses the grand challenges humanity is facing, such as resource depletion, climate change, and insecurity about future energy supply, through inter- and trans-disciplinary academic research.

International Field Trips

Our students study the world – Cosmos, Earth and the Anthroposphere – and they also get to know it in practice: The "Faculty for Exploration" organizes field trips to different places all over the world.
