An attempt at reconstructing Eocene food webs in and around Lake Messel

Abstrakt

Based on information from gut contents, coprolites, dentition, feeding traces, the diets of the nearest living relatives, and the modes of plant dispersal, an attempt is made to reconstruct the food webs in and around Lake Messel. Suggestions are made for improving the proposed schemes.
