Each year, the Department of Culture awards 6 promotional prizes for the humanities, social and cultural sciences, medical sciences, mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology, and popular education.

The promotion prize is awarded in recognition of the outstanding overall activity in the above-mentioned fields to date.

Prize money: 4,000 euros each

Eligibility: Scientists who have been living or working in Vienna for at least 2 years and have not yet reached the age of 40 at the time of submission. Individuals and teams can submit an application.

Individuals and teams who have already been awarded a sponsorship prize once are excluded from applying again in the same field.

Deadline: the call opens on 1 January 2023 and closes on 31 March 2023 at 24:00
