Abstract

The ? Bootis stars are a spectroscopic subgroup of chemically peculiar Population I A-type stars. They show significant underabundances of Fe-peak elements and solar abundances of lighter elements. Theoretical explanations include surface phenomena and binarity. We compared the pulsating ? Bootis star HD 210111 with two normal ? Scuti pulsators. This comparison shows that the pulsational behaviour of HD 210111 is compatible with the ? Bootis phenomenon being a surface effect only.
