Gender and Diversity @ FGGA

Since the year 2022 the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy is working on a new gender and diversity initiative and strategy. The Faculty's Gender- and Diversity team together with Dean's team and the Equal Opportunities Party aim at

  • fostering a gender- and diversity-sensitive culture at our Faculty, that welcomes all colleagues regardless of their gender, origin, religion, age, ...
  • creating awareness of the problems and difficulties female scientists and members of other minorities/groups are facing in academics,
  • developing counter-strategies to the "leaky pipeline" and thus reducing the loss of women and parents in science, and
  • providing support, enhancing visibility and creating a strong and productive gender- and diversity-related network within our Faculty.

First steps have already been realized, while other details are still to be discussed within our network and will be communicated soon.
