Effective induction heating inside exoplanets orbiting strongly magnetized M dwarfs

Abstract

We present our result on induction heating in exoplanets orbiting strongly magnetized M dwarfs. We show that this type of heating canunder some conditions be stronger than the interior heating of Jovian satellite Io due to tidal heat. Internal heating of such amplitude leads to melting of planetary mantle, formation of subsurface magma oceans and extreme volcanic activity.
