Abstract

This Technical Guide is intended to provide user-friendly operational information and tools to stakeholders interested in incorporating the topic of human mobility related challenges and opportunities into relevant national climate change planning processes, in particular, the NAP process. It is a supplement to the UNFCCC National adaptation plans: technical guidelines for the national adaptation plan process produced by the LEG, hereinafter referred to as the NAP technical guidelines.
This Technical Guide provides a step-by-step guide for relevant stakeholders for mainstreaming human mobility into adaptation planning and communication tools. It provides reasons for stakeholders to consider including human mobility elements in adaptation planning and communication and suggests key steps for mainstreaming human mobility into NAPs and adaptation communications (adcoms) in particular. However, as there is no one-size-fits-all approach for mainstreaming, the entry points and approaches of this Technical Guide may be adapted to specific contexts and institutional needs.
