- Abstract
The CoRoT mission now ready for launch is a minisatellite belonging to the PRO-TEUS platform family developped by CNES with french laboratories and seven other partners It has 2 scientific objectives requiring ultra high precision photometry and long unin-terrupted sequences of observations of the same stars detection of extrasolar planets through their transits and detection of stellar oscillations The ultra high precision and stability has been reached through severe control of all the perturbators both instrumental and environmental A strong cooperation between CNES and the scientific laboratories has allowed to reach the required extreme performances within a reasonnable cost and delay
