Abstract

The triclinic structure of tetrammonium cadmium dihydrogenselenite(IV) diselenate(VI), (NH4)4Cd(HSeIVO 3)2 (SeVIO4)2 was discussed. The compound had kro?hnkite-like heteropolyhedral chains in which CdO6 octahedra were linked via bridging HSeO3 groups. The charge-balancing NH4 groups were involved in weak hydrogen bonding, whereas the H atom of the HSeO3 group provided a strong hydrogen bond. The unit-cell parameter determination of the compound indicated no change in symmetry upon cooling.
