Abstract

We present near-IR spectra (HK-band) of a sample of 107 sources detected during the ISOGAL survey [8] in the most inner regions of our Galaxy which is completely hampered by interstellar extinction (AV > 25 mag). We show in this work that combining near and mid-IR data (DENIS, 2MASS, ISOGAL), infrared spectroscopy and the interstellar extinction map [13] allows to study the properties of the different stellar populations in the Inner Galaxy. Making use of the ISOGAL data, we discuss mass-loss rates of AGB stars and determine metallicities using the atomic lines of NaI and CaI at ~ 2.2 μm. Using the lastest hydrostatic MARCS models, we do a first quantitative comparison between models and observations.
