The FWF is revising its funding programmes and the FWF START call will no longer be open. Instead the new ASTRA programme is going to start in fall 2024. Since the guidelines are expected to be published in August 2024 only, we have to cancel the joint FWF/ERC info-event on 30 April.
An information workshop on ERC StG/ CoG is planned for June 2024. More information will follow soon. ***

ERC StG and FWF START both aim to support postdocs that are respectively two to seven/two to eight years after their PhD. Funding is provided for excellent research projects with a duration of up to 5 years and the establishment of a first own working group. Both programmes are open to researchers from all disciplines and to all topics.

Since applicants for the FWF START must commit to submitting a research project with the same content to the next possible ERC StG call, provided they are eligible to apply, the workshop aims to provide information on both funding programmes, and to answer questions such as: How do the two programmes differ? What should be considered in terms of form, content or budget planning? What are the internal procedures at the University of Vienna? What happens if both submissions are successful?

The event is co-organised by the National funding team and the EU & International funding team of the DLE Research Services and Career Development (FSNF) and is open to researchers who are planning to submit an application to one or both schemes.
